No idea, which probably is less clueless than whoever at TSG suggested and implemented it. The bet makes zero sense and I haven't seen a race where it was an advantageous opportunity yet.

So the new Horse Racing Roulette bet is only avaliable within CA only. Last weekend, I was at Turf Paradise and I was curious, and decide to make a bet on Green. When I went to the self service machine, the roulette bet wasn’t an option. Then I went to the tellers and they had no idea what I was talking about. I tried to explain the bet to one of the teller ladies and when I said wanted to bet on Green, the teller actually said “you mean #5?”
I went to customer service and showed them the program of the bet, and they didn’t know anything about it.
I called my bartender friend in OKC, and they don’t offer it in Remington or the casinos either.
I haven’t asked ask my dad about the Laughlin casinos, but chances are, its a no.

It is a non-standard (ITSP or Inter Tote Standards Protocol) wager, thus it cannot be transmitted between tote systems.

As much as I don't like the roulette wager in its current implementation the current ITSP system is simply to inflexible. At one time it WAS the innovation, now next to politics and bs, its the single biggest innovation stopper in the industry.

What I found was that in 1971 Arlington was the first horse track to offer trifectas. As I recall, only one trifecta a day, usually in the last race was offered at tracks taking trifecta bets.

I can't remember if dog tracks adopted the tri any earlier.
