ADW recommendations for ease of use for an elderly person?

Hi:

I will soon be setting up an elderly relative with an ADW that he will use strictly on a laptop computer.

Ease of use and an uncluttered, simple layout are the priorities here. Large buttons, etc...would be helpful, as this person must work a keyboard and mouse with the challenge of hand tremors. He does not want to use a phone-in option. He is familiar with and quite willing to use the computer. I'm just trying to optimize his experience.

Any recommendations or help appreciated. I am a TwinSpires customer myself, so I know what that ADW is like. I just don't have an idea of what the other interfaces offer in this respect.

Thanks!

they are all pretty good. NYRA bets is pretty easy along with XPRESS BET. on XPRESSBET you have to make sure you have the right race at the track you are playing. what i mean is that if you play ahead of time on Keeneland's 7th race and decide you want to bet the current race which is the 4th race, you have to make sure you click on race 4. other than that its easy.

I'm just a small scale bettor but have accounts with the major vendors.

As much as I dislike TVG's television product, I think TVG's desktop Web interface might be the most user-friendly of the lot.

NYRA Bets has a great app which is easy to use and it's my default "what the hell, I'll place a bet at the last minute" app, but their website interface isn't as good as TVG in my view. TVG also runs "money back specials" for casual bettors like me. NYRA passes on those. Don't know where your relative might stand on that issue. TwinSpires is next in line on the MBS front.

Does he have decent internet? If you have poor internet like me your experience can vary from someone else. Operating systems and browsers can also make a difference.

Skip the mouse and use an iPad Pro. Maybe………

If he can control his finger better than a mouse

Tons of accessibility options in windows and Mac including iPad.

Hand tremors (and head) are usually caused by what are known as Essential Tremors and I've had to learn to live with them the last 20 years or so. I have accounts with both Twinspires and TVG and find both work fine, although I prefer Twinspires.
More importantly I would find a setup that works for him because it can vary from person to person and individually over time, e.g. hand position can make a huge difference. I find it extremely difficult to use a laptop because the position I have to put my arms and hands in, and the keys are to sensitive.
If I had to use a laptop I would plug in an external keyboard and wireless mouse. My keyboard is on a dropdown below the top of my desk. I rest my forearms on the arms of my chair and operate the mouse (set at high sensitivity) and keyboard employing the least amount of muscle.
Hope this helps, and to reiterate I think the setup he uses is more important than the ADW interface.
