Nursing home patients say the damnedest things...

Why does the White House always have to walk back the comments of its primary occupant?

https://www.cnbc.com/2022/03/26/bide...f-ukraine.html

Quote:
Biden says Putin ‘cannot remain in power’ in sweeping speech on Russian invasion of Ukraine
and then the inevitable walk back because Biden can't control his brain...

Quote:
Later Saturday, a White House official attempted to clarify that Biden “was not discussing Putin’s power in Russia, or regime change,” but rather was making the point that Putin “cannot be allowed to exercise power over his neighbors or the region.”
yeah....ok...81 million votes baby!

And to think all of this is better than mean tweets to some people. They will defend this President to the bitter end.

The media always guesses what he meant when he says something.

'He can not stay in power' was implied to mean Putin.

Actually Joe Biden was talking about Joe Biden.

The Blue Checks were out in full voice declaring it a Reagan-esque moment.

I don't remember St Ronaldus of Reagan having his comments clarified by his handlers.

I'm old enough to remember that American liberals were shocked and outraged when Ronald Reagan called the Soviet Union an "evil empire."

You don't let Biden have a hot mic in a war zone.

Who's the boss?

The walk back of Biden's extemporaneous comments clearly tells us that he is just a puppet.
Who is really running America's Executive Branch?

It was a remarkable statement that would reverse stated U.S. policy, directly countering claims from senior administration officials, including Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who have insisted regime change is not on the table. It went further than even U.S. presidents during the Cold War, and immediately reverberated around the world as world leaders, diplomats, and foreign policy experts sought to determine what Biden said, what it meant — and, if he didn’t mean it, why he said it.
.
.
.
Biden’s line was not planned and came as a surprise to U.S. officials, according to a person familiar with the speech who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss a sensitive situation. In the immediate aftermath of the remark, reporters rushed to find Biden aides and seek clarity on the president seemingly supporting a regime change in Russia.
.
.
.
White House officials were adamant the remark was not a sign of a policy change, but they did concede it was just the latest example of Biden’s penchant for stumbling off message. And like many of his unintended comments, they came at the end of his speech as he ad-libbed and veered from the carefully crafted text on the teleprompter.

From same article:

Quote:
“I feel very capable of using my mouth in sync with my mind,” he told reporters, with more than a hint of defensiveness, in 1987.

At the launch of his 2008 campaign, Biden came under criticism for calling Barack Obama “the first mainstream African American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy.” Later, as Obama’s vice president, Biden was captured on a microphone whispering an expletive to Obama at the bill signing for the landmark health care law.

Biden drew significant ire from Obama and his aides when he announced his support for same-sex marriage before Obama or many other prominent politicians.

During the presidential campaign, Biden referred to Margaret Thatcher instead of the more recent British prime minister Theresa May, and he misstated when he had met with students impacted by a shooting in Parkland, Fla.

TYPICAL! Biden made a very strong speech supporting Ukraine, reassuring our NATO allies and warning Russia. In other words, everything Trump didn’t do.

Of course the right wing echo chamber gets their panties all in a bunch, misinterpreting one sentence in the speech. Putin cannot remain in power, means the Russian people should oust him, not we should invade Russia. Of course that is easier said than done.

And do you really think the White House makes any correction, revision or explanation of Biden’s remarks without his full input and approval?

Right wing echo chamber? I posted articles from CNBC & The Washington Post.

Seems the ENTIRE WORLD is trying to figure out what is going on, because as it turns out, IT MATTERS WHAT THE PRESIDENT SAYS.

You reminded us of that ALL THE TIME when Trump would FLY HIS MOUTH OFF.

Now all of a sudden, IT'S OK, right mostpost? LMAO

Remember folks, what they said when Biden was elected....

THE ADULTS ARE BACK IN CHARGE...LOLOLOLOLOLOL

Then again, I wouldn't be surprised if this was EXACTLY what Biden was TOLD to say...this was probably done on purpose.

To convey actual intentions, and soften the blow by pretending for a week or two that this was just
"Joe being Joe"

Your premise assumes that liberals have brains. That is a doubtful proposition.

You don't "warn" somebody like Putin on the public stage. You have your guys talk to his guys and try to settle things peacefully. Does anyone here think that Putin takes anything Biden says seriously? He knows Biden can't and won't do anything of any consequence except blow a lot of hot air.

And Biden has no business telling the people of Russia who they should or should not elect to power. That just ticks them off for having a lame brain American telling them how they should live.

I think when staff explains to Biden that he did something dumb, he gives them the OK to fix it.
