Santa Anita late pick 4 pool for Feb 8th.

Final total: 769,024

This bet is alive and well, you can make the case that the 50 cent pick 4 is the most popular wager in America.

I've never been a huge fan of the pick 4 only because its a bet that is pretty hard to hit, but it also can yield small payouts, and my biggest problem is that you have to be correct 4 in a row, if you are a genius in 3 races and an idiot in 1 you lose everything.

But Powerball is a very close second.

The 50-cent parlay would have paid $1,679...while the 50-cent pick-4 paid $1,158.

Considering that the money is locked in for the duration in the pick-4, while it can be withdrawn at any time during a parlay progression...the pick-4 should ALWAYS pay more than the parlay, IMO.

The pick-4 is a rip-off when it pays less...

The horse who finished 2nd was 4-5 and was paying 150 for 50 cents had he won....and that also was extremely low.
