DQ Derby
I guess the Kentucky Derby isn't concerned about crowning the best horse.
We also get crap comments from Bill Mott saying "If it was a $16K claiming race, he would come down". Well I guess they come down in $3 Million races. (And as we all know Max was a $16K claimer).
I guess we see the hierarchy of racing and some just aren't meant to belong.
The boos are coming for a reason.
What a complete shitshow.

Not really. He caused quite a bit of interference. I have no problem with it.
It actually took balls to make that decision. They could have taken the way easier way out but didn't.

I'll post what i said in the selections thread
Racing was lucky today, odds had to be at least 50-50 for Tyler and War of Will going to the ground when MaxSec came out, and given they were in the front, they would have not been the only horse and jock coming down.
How would have those headlines have looked tomorrow?

I have been very critical of how stewards let dangerous moves such as horses being allowed to veer all over the track...so after this decision I say...FINALLY someone is held accountable.
Feel bad for the young rider. the owners who have given a lot to this game.

DQ was the right call.
Now, if they had DQ'd the top 13 horses, I would have hit an exacta!
Now I know why Baffert spent do much time with Improbable in the paddock - he was holding him upright!

Yea feel bad for Luis, maybe he was right and the horse was spooked by the noise, they're animals, these things happen, but like I said, we were oh so close to a tragedy today and people need to be held accountable.

Who cares? That doesn't matter once there is a Steward's Inquiry.

The only people that need to be held accountable are the idiots who harrowed the track before the heavy rain came.

right call
No way they can leave this horse up. He may have been best but he almost took the 1 to the mat. Jock admitted he lost concentration and veered out.
Props to the stewards for making the decision.

Just before they hit the stretch, you could clearly see 20 cut off 21 and then impeded on the 18. Why wasn't anyone looking at that?

Exactly. I had no dog in this hunt. Didn't make a bet and didn't even post picks for bragging rights. The 7 moved out and shut off the 1; that could have been very ugly. I was shocked that the stewards made the call but it was the right one. But no doubt Max Security was the best horse today.
