Interesting race. Huge favorite (1-5) for Asmussen gets steamrolled by a Boyd Castor/Nakatani 40-1 shot.
In looking at the form afterwards, pretty surprised at the easy lead by 4 horse in what appeared to be slowish fractions but I have no idea how OP was playing.
The real interesting piece comes when several horses come together in midstretch and it looks like the favorite is life-n-death to finish in the money and the middle horse gets squeezed and clips heels. Jockey stays up. Horse finishes a distant 4th.
Jockey claims objection against 2nd and 3rd place finishers. 1/5 ran 3rd and had 90% of show money.
Stewards ruled no change. I was surprised they didn't put 4th place finisher up to 3rd ahead (or even 2nd). Bridge jumper was probably sweating a bit.
Santana was riding so hard for second, someone must have had a huge back wheel job. Even though 1-5, and first time out this year, he was wailing on a horse that might have long term success.
