Gallinari is a free agent after the season, almost has to be traded if you are truly rebuilding. Presti isn't going to trade him just to tank, but if he gets value he will be gone.
Schroder and Adams are the tough ones. Both are young enough to be part of a rebuild but both also have value on the market. It will be really interesting to see how it all plays out. What I do know is that has been a fun team to watch. They aren't quite as good as the team last year (before George got hurt), but even when that team was winning they were not a fun team to watch. Enjoying the games no matter what the future holds for now.

Wow -- sounds like even a hardcore OKC fan like yourself has done a 180 on CP3. No question but that he is a sharp guy and should be able to help young players -- also still has some game left. No idea of the team's future, but between Schoder and Adams imho it should be a no-brainer -- Adams is ranked just below the top ten players in the league in WS 48 at .218 -- the highest on the team. There would be a noticeable drop if he was dealt for lesser talent. Schroder is at .06 -- a good scorer but questionable D. Good that you're still enjoying the games despite last year's head-spinning changes.

Most people here like CP3 as he was the young star when the then New Orleans Hornets temporarily located here following Katrina. He was a big part of why OKC has a team of its own now. I wasn't here then, it was during a gap when a lived overseas. I never had that same appreciation.
Of course that changed a bit once he was on the Clippers and going up against Westbrook all the time. Russ pretty much had his number just because of sheer athleticism Paul had trouble with, but he had his moments. But looking back now after seeing Paul play, I can only imagine how things could have been different if they had a point guard like Paul instead of Westbrook during the Durant/Harden/Ibaka time. He is certainly a master of his craft.

What a meltdown by the Rockets today against OKC. Harden 1-17 from 3. SEVENTEEN!

You have to admire his "stick-to-itiveness".

The Thunder mascot flips them backwards from half court and hits a better percentage.

Really enjoy watching Trey Young. Emerging superstar with unlimited potential it seems. Incredible game he is having tonight. Young’s passing is like Mahomes in football.

Certainly very skilled, but I really wish the flopping would stop. He is Harden-esque.
Also, he plays zero defense. He is literally of one of the worst defenders in the entire NBA. He is way too athletic for that so it is an effort thing along with never having played much D growing up. I looked him up on Defensive Win Shares (and also watched him closely in person recently, he's a turnstile). When looking at players that have played at least 35 games and 700 minutes, he ranks 189th out of 222.
Fun to watch on offense, but we'll see if he becomes a real star. The potential is there but he really needs to step it up on D.

Horrible effort he gives on defense no doubt. This flopping is adversely affecting games. When Young plays D he definitely should carry a RED Matador cape.

The effort Anthony Davis gives on defense is utterly amazing, especially considering his size. Pretty fun watching him play with Patrick Mahomes......Lebron James

NBA trade blitz
Really have to wait awhile until the dust clears after the whirlwind of action approaching the NBA trade deadline, but a few comments:
I would have thought that Capela for Covington wouldn't make much of a difference, but after tonight's win over the Lakers, this looks like a much more efficient, energized Rockets team. May really be a major game-changer for them.
Iguodala and Crowder to Miami looks like Riley got the best of this, but maybe only moves them up half a notch in the east. Bucks not losing sleep.
Clips pick-up of Marcus Morris, a talented veteran also coveted by Lakers, is a shrewd move for them and should add more size and muscle for post-season. Gotta feel for Harkless, possibly on the verge of his first championship, getting shipped to the hellhole of the Knicks.
Some other bizarre moves -- Wiggins to Warriors?! -- will take a while to sort out.

Forbes magazine recently listed the monetary value of each NBA franchise. Would anyone care to guess which team rated on top...with an estimated value of $4.6 Billion? No google searches please.
PS...
The average NBA team value has risen by 600% over the last decade.

I think it's been the Lakers for awhile. Like the Celtics and Knicks, they're institutions in huge basketball cities, so that even when they can't put a competitive product on the floor, they'll still come close to selling out most games. And because they're in expensive cities, they can charge top dollar. OTOH, a team like Miami, even when they've had good teams, struggles to sell tickets -- not a hoops culture there.
