MOUNTAINEER SELECTIONS - 3/21

st RACE: TENDER FLYER moves to the inside for Whitney. Showed speed and almost stole the show in Ohio. Similar effort takes it this time. HESTILLMOVESSTONES failed his supporters as the $.80-1 chalk last out, but needed that race. Improved effort places this one in contention. BENGOA finally flashed speed in that last effort before passing the baton. Knepper could pop in the Top 3 at a number. 1-6-5

nd RACE: DAN'S REPORT gave an improved effort in that last race, which produced 2 next out winners. Could be rounding to form and can definitely hit the board with Spieth on. STONEY CREEK has a lightning late kick and draws near the inside. A better judgment of the pace will carry this one home. COBY APPEAL has been stuck here in the class for a wee bit too long. Can hit the board, but best might not be enough for the win again. 5-2-7

rd RACE: WEKIVA STORM could be firing fresh going short but needs to speed pop immediately to avoid being hung wide on that turn. FADING MEMORIES needed that last effort, but could still be 2nd best here. POURING RAIN has to be respected here with the consistency. Very usable in the gimmicks and can break clear early if not pressed. 7-3-1

th RACE: TRULY FALSE gets the old "drop and pop" for Master Baird here. No way this one keeps the 4/1 ML. JAY CHARLIE D finds a nice spot but the presence of the Baird horse could prove too much. NO PROOF might be a horse who needed some class relief. Joe Stokes aboard gives you a price underneath. 8-1-3

th RACE: SIR ALFRED stretches out for the Scooter. Whitney aboard makes even more dangerous. GEO QUERCUS goes first off the layoff, and could lay deep in the weeds on the board. Beech is a sneaky boy. LUCKY SANDMAN the old vet didn't handle the jump in class well last out. Might be at home with this bunch with a well-judged ride. 5-9-4

th RACE: HEEBIE JEEBIES needs a perfect trip to back up that short price and can get it here. VIVA BLANDA looks to fit well here. Might not be up to par with the top gun though. MON CABO takes a dip back to a better class. Needs to keep pace to make the ticket. 4-6-5

th RACE: ROCKY LANE (Best Longshot Bet of the Night). A drop in distance after meeting Chute The Breeze in that last effort. Attracts Felipe Santos from Michigan. The inside post on the shortening could mean a surprise speed pop. 15/1 ML. DOU TEMPS had a horror trip in that last effort. Better timing and position gets a piece. ORIGINES has good early pace and will need to hold it for any shot. 2-7-5

th RACE: PEACE AND JOY (Best Bet of the Night). Has numbers that can put the field to sleep. DANGEL moves from a $15k tag to $30k is a vote of confidence by John Semer. Pereira could speed pop this field for a decent score. 4/1 ML. INSIDE PITCH moves to the $30k open here and might appreciate a fast track. 7-3-4

th RACE: MOON DOLLY is the class of class here. Should score easily and key as a single for the late DD. SUPAH SENSATION gets the lasix here, and could react well from Uncle Frank's barn. MISS T V G completes a rather chalky trifecta. 3-5-8

th RACE: GEMMA KYLE gets the rail and has the past goods to speed pop at a number. JILL MCGILL goes for the dangerous Master Baird. Drop in class also helps here. BATTLE SEARCH moves in from Ohio and potentially fits well here. Usable. 1-2-6
