The May 11 NYT story had nothing to do with leaked memos. The memos story didn't print until May 16.

If so, then the Comey you know must not be the Jim Comey, disgraced ex-FBI director, who was on display this past week, Dan.
Comey did nothing when Obama-Holder committed treason per the Fast and Furious scandal and was indirectly responsible for the murder of a Border Patrol agent.
Comey did nothing when Obama and his IRS storm-booted private American citizens whose only 'crime' was having a different political point of view than the anti-American Obama.
Comey did nothing about Obama and the hateful Loretta Lynch tried to influence the 2016 election by criminally ignoring the treason committed by Hillary Clinton and her involvement with the Clinton Foundation.
Comey personally committed treason when he illegally leaked classified information in the 'Russia-Trump' hoax to the media and 'friend'.
So, who again is the Comey you know who has more integrity in his pinky than Donald Trump?
Not the Comey all of America knows that's for sure.

Comey dropped a little bomb in his testimony about being instructed by Obama's A.G., Loretta Lynch, to use mush mouth language to keep a low profile on the Hillary server investigation.
Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-California), the ranking member of the Senate Intelligence Committee (talk about oxymorons), appearing on Sunday’s State of the Union on CNN, called for an investigation of that by the Senate Judiciary Committee.
