Track trends this week just in time for the weekend!
Dirt Track Sprints
Speed has held this week with Pressers being the next best RS
Dirt Track Routes
Pressers and stalkers are neck and neck but remember Pressers were the best RS last week
Turf Sprints
Speed was very dominant and no other running style was good
Turf Routes
A mixed bag this week with Speed being the best but Closers and Stalkers (in that order) have made their bids for best RS this week
Biases to watch heading into the weekend:
Dirt Sprints being very much dominant on Speed with all surfaces favouring posts 4-6/middle of the track so far this week

Turf Sprints all on the Mellon
Turf Routes split between the Mellon and Inner, should probably be separated out - that will account for much of the mixed bag (although a closer just won on the inner).

Heading into Travers week, the Mellon Course course rails (currently set at 27') will be taken down so expect that the inside trips will be beneficial (although not as pronounced as we have see on the Inner Turf course).
Expect that the Inner Turf Course rails will be moved out (set to 18' most likely) which will change the characteristics of those races starting next week.
Note that the rails might change sooner, so be sure to pay attention for news on this one.

From 27 feet to 0 essentially means an entirely new Mellon.
Ah, nothing like a fresh mellon on a hot day.

Rather than grabbing the low hanging fruit (sorry), a Thornton Melon reference (sorry) would have been more welcomed.

But if it rains, it'll be a water Mellon.
Then an odor could set in, creating a musk Mellon.
That could also slow the horses to between a lope and a canter, sort of a cantelope.

The hot new trend at Saratoga?
Pick up mounts.
4 of 8 winners so far today have been on pick up mounts. Couple of decent prices in there as well.

Pick-ups from Rosario mounts will tend to do better than many others!

the pickup mount that Ricardo Santana picked up today on ECHO AGAIN may turn ou to be the pickup mount of the year. if this horse isn't the top 2-year-old, he's definitely in the top 3 with Steves other horse UNARMED and Michelle Lovelle's 2 yo so far.
of course, lots can change

Why do none of your charts total 100%?
