He initially supported Jeb Bush in the 2016 Republican primaries, but later became the only former Republican presidential nominee to endorse Donald Trump in the general election.

Robert Joseph Dole served in World War II, in particular I am fond of our World War II veterans. Unquestioned love for our country by every single one of them, use that as a acid test today. I remember how determined he was to stand from his wheelchair and salute George H.W. Bush when he died.

I didn't agree with him on every issue. But I don't think he was just there for money and I never questioned his love of country and best intentions to do what he thought could help it. That's certainly not how I see many many current people in Washington. RIP to a Man and a soldier
