The Zebras
I have been watching football for over 65 years and glad that I don't bet ..It's getting very difficult to watch the NFL as the officiating is horrible. As a horseplayer who still bets the game is not the same as it was years ago with meds etc....I am now convinced that football is not on the up and up,,,just my 2 cents

The calls can get pretty frustrating sometimes, that's for sure. The only time you're ever sure about a bet in the NFL is about half way through the 4th period of a blowout, otherwise, the refs seem to feel the pressure of a tight game as much as the players.

What upsets me the most? Glad you asked.
Does anybody think the Patriots don't get that non-interference call that killed the Saints if the Pats have the ball at home in Foxborough?
Does anybody besides me wonder what the hell KC was doing with #49 about 25 yards downfield on every crucial 3rd down play in overtime?
Does anybody think Reid vs. Belichick is anything close to a pick'em?

The Saints got screwed. I understand letting them play, but you have to call the obvious stuff. One of the worst non-calls I've ever seen,

After that non call, I would try using a tire iron ans see what happens.
The zebra should be fired.
And investigated - I would assume he had a rather large bet on the game.
And not on the Saints.

I feel the same way, they should be investigated. A new video actually shows that there were two refs in proximity.

Horrible non-call.
Incidents like this make the case for expanding replay a lot stronger.

I'd have made Patriots -3, not the -2 they are at right now.
The way the Rams got by NO will factor into opinion on betting this game.
Right or wrong, the Rams will lose a lot of neutral support by how they got here.
Then, of course, there are the Brady and Belichick factors.
New England, in my opinion, will take most of the money at -2.
The ov/un total was easy to figure this year.
Both conference championships were around 57-58.
Super Bowl total at 57.5 was a no brainer.
It may go higher, too.

They use replay in ball-spotting situations, when only inches of ground hang in the balance...but they don't allow replay in the pass interference situations, where the call could make a 60 yard difference. In which universe does this make any sense?

And time wise, it would ended the game.
The Saints could have run the clock down to half past 2-bad.
The second zebra.....was he on a grassy knoll?

Drew Breeze in the Super Bowl against Brady would have been a much better story.
This will be an illegitimate Championship

We have a review call on pass interference plays in the CFL, each coach gets one a game. It will be coming to the NFL soon.

Couldn't have any ref on the field made the call? Even if it was delayed a few seconds. You know, the line judge sees the back judge isn't going to make the call, and it's so obvious that he finally just throws his flag?
I don't know the answer, but do the refs have specific areas of the field they can't step into, like the back judge, from behind the QB, can't make a D holding call in the secondary, even if it's clear as day to him from 30 yards away?

Frankly, that one single play has put a stench on this year's playoffs that won't go away.
