The Vosburgh
Yikes
Jackies Warrior would be 1/5 in this field yet hes skipping it for BC sprint where he will get drowned.

It’s an awful race. As are most of the NYRA grades stakes this year.

As bad as it looks on paper, it is probably impossible to be as bad as the Phoenix was at Keeneland on Friday.

Neither field is G2 worthy, but at least in the Phoenix you had a chance of cashing a decent ticket. (And as it turned out a $37 winner and $365 EX).
The Vosburg is simply unbettable.

The Phoenix didn’t look so bad going in, but the top 3 choices didn’t run their A race.

This race is an excellent example of why projected pars are more accurate than straight class pars.
On paper this is a Gr2 for males 3yr old and up, which is a 112 par on my scale, but these are not 112 horses. I'm assigning a projected par of 109 for this race, based on the numbers these guys have run previously. A 109 on my scale is an Ungraded Stakes race par, which I think more accurately portrays the caliber of this field.
A par of 112 will almost surely make this race come up falsely slow when making figures for this card.
The Gr2-Phoenix at Kee yesterday also projected to be slower than the par for that class.

I thought that field lacked any kind of standouts, i was on top gunner but it was only marginal opinion.

Looks like the Racing Secretary had to scramble just to make the race go.

I had a knock on the top two and was looking to play against them. I didn’t have a strong opinion on the rest. I played Necker Island, but he didn’t run either. Your horse ran well. Good price.

The bad news is, the field sucks.
The good news is, there aren't many them.
This race is like Denny's....no one goes there, you end up there.

Just as long as we don't get any Vosburgh/Denny's jokes involving the word "runs".

Another 4 horse firld at Belqueduct.
Maybe racing Sat/Sun only would help.
$105,000 Alw race and those 4 were the best they draw?
And the longest shot wins, after losing a n2l claimer last time.
Why bother?
