The will pays for the $2.00, 1/5 quinella was paying only $2.00.
The bettor likely meant to bet race #1.

Based on the quinella pools of race 1 & 3, looks like the 2nd race had about a $6000+ finger slip to create the comparatively massive pool in race 2

I don't think this was an error. Not sure how they are getting down elsewhere, but pretty sure they are sacrificing $5000 in the quinella pool to distort the payoffs and collect a lot more than that from a non-pari-mutuel source.

It's not the first time it happened at Will Rogers this year. See Race 1 on April 7. $2 exacta paid $69, $2 quinella paid $650. Quinella pool $6000+ instead of the $900 or so it usually is. All the combinations with a 34-1 shot were paying 3-1.

I'm not sure that would fly even once these days, let alone twice. Offshore places have very low limits on tracks like WRD last I checked and I doubt they've grown.

Today, not seeing a option to bet the quinella at WRD. At least it is not on Twinspires.

Why would Will Rogers do something to protect offshore/bookies that would possibly be getting burned by the scheme proposed? Makes no sense.

Based on cnoll comments about the way the bets covered a 34-1 shot and the huge handle on that pool alone, it seems clear some scumbaggery was going down.

That is why I asked in the initial post for the sleuths to figure it out. Way beyond my paygrade
