Shancelot
Unbelievable.
Very happy to see Navarro get a horse with real talent to just see how far he can take them.

His 6F split of 1:07.63 was faster than Imperial Hint's track record in the Vanderbilt yesterday.
6 1/2 Furlong track record is 1:13.74 set by Quality Road back in 2009. Shancelot just ran 1:14.01.
The BC Sprint is setting up to be crazy good.

No reason to even ship for the Grade 1 next month. Just find a easier spot.

Some may find this performance spectacular, but I find it bad for racing.
This doesn't happen....winning a Gr2 sprint by a pole!?
I'm not gonna go there, but the trainer is Jorge Navarro.
Looked a bit like Sharp Azteca, eh?

accept this horse may actually have a lot of talent. throw in a little special seasoning and you get off the charts performance.

Shancelot is a sprinter so he is more like Runhappy to me.
I thought Runhappy's 3YO performance in the King's Bishop was the best sprint race I'd ever seen from a 3YO. This may well top that one.

Harder to win like that in sprints. Sprinters and routers are a bit different, while most races are sprints the real money is in routing. I would say great routers are talked about differently than sprinters.

Really? I guess I have to go find the video, but thinking Runhappy coming up in any category of best-ever 3yo seems a stretch.

Best SPRINT race I've seen.
A single race. In a sprint. For a 3YO.

Runhappy never won a race by 12 1/2 lengths. I would point him to the Travers without blinking.
You HAVE to try to stretch him out. Do you really think anyone would have caught him no matter how long that race was today?
They tried stretching Runhappy out in his first race of the year at FG, he bombed.

6 1/2 furlongs to 10 furlongs is a very very long ways.
If I was an owner and Jorge wanted to push him to any 2 turn race, I might punch him in the face.

That was only his third race. Why exactly do you think he can't stretch out? Breeding?
Arrogate won the Travers by 13 lengths from gate to wire. Why couldn't this horse do the same?
