It looks like you do see a small flash of light when you see the object in the area of the propeller. I saw a video where a guy was flying drones into a propeller on a single engine Cessna, the drones were the small type and the plane was sitting on the ground. That means the prop was spinning at way less than full rpm, that didn't even nick the prop.
