He has had to deal with a lot of distractions. You don't hear much about the wall or health care lately. Of course, those distractions might be intentional so he doesn't have to deal with the wall or health care. It buys him some time.

The mid-term elections should be very interesting.

I haven't checked the betting sites to see if he is the favorite in 2020, but I'd guess he must me. I have not seen any serious contenders on the dem side.

Obama blind-sided Hillary. I don't even know who the front-running dem is. The former democratic machine screwed up big-time backing Hillary for so many years. Now the party is in shambles. I imagine there is a lot of shit going on behind the scenes as people try to rise to power within the party.
Both parties are in shambles.

The Democrats face identity issues of a generational variety.

Republicans face agenda issues of a political variety.

I'm hoping for a new Whig Party made up of Reagan republicans.

Tom and many others were birthers here. If pressed some still are. Social media and right wing cites and AM radio ran with that utter lunacy.

How about Q now? Buy that? Roseanne Barr does

It's all over the place.
In South Africa yesterday, 0bama admitted he was not a US citizen.
He said that those children in cages could he his kids!

The only way that could happen is if HE were sneaking in to the
country, and if he was really a citizen, he would not have to sneak in.

Bazinga!
The debate is over!

Maybe Obama was NOT being rhetorical. Maybe he really thinks those may be his children. After all, he made visits to Costa Rica, El Salvador, Panama, and five times to Mexico. Plenty of opportunity to be a serial baby daddy.

The best thing to happen to the dems was for Hillary to lose, even if they don't see it that way. This will make them get their house in order.

Had Hillary won the dems would have dug themselves an even deeper hole and a republican presidency probably would have been imminent for the next few cycles.

For the country's sake it's better to have weak leaders who get nothing done. The country gets along fine without a bunch of bureaucratic, busy body, meddling politicians wanting to throw their weight around so they can act like big shots.

Biographer David Cay Johnston reveals that Russia has amassed a 30-year trove of compromising dirt on Trump
https://www.rawstory.com/2018/07/bio...ng-dirt-trump/

Donald Trump has been a shady businessman who was entangled with Russians for 30 years, Pulitzer-winning journalist David Cay Johnston said on CNN Tuesday.

Johnston has been following Trump’s financial dealings for many years, and wrote a biography of Trump. Johnston says that there are no shortage of compromising facts that would be revealed by looking deeply into the president’s financial dealings.

“We know the Russians have been courting Donald, spending money on him and putting money in his pocket for more than 30 years,” he said. “Donald’s son, one of his sons, has said they were getting lots of money from Russians, and he’d been deeply involved with deals… with Russian gangsters.”

The issue is that there is so much kompromat out there that Trump couldn’t even keep track of it all, Johnston said. There are deep ties between Trump, Russian oligarchs and Russian gangsters.

“He believes in his own mind he’s better than the rest of us, and he should be in charge for life,” he said. “But donald also knows that his tax returns are a real problem…. Russian money is very important to Donald’s position. And explains why when he has no money and he had no credit, he was flush with cash through all sorts of deals as well as being bailed out a few years ago.”
