Casse seems high on Dream Maker. Intrepid Heart looks like a runner to me

I had to go and watch Intrepid Heart's maiden win after you mentioned him. It was pretty impressive looking. Took pace pressure from an outside horse for 6 plus furlongs before putting him away, seemed to have some good cruising speed headed for home. If he can maintain that stride going longer he could be a good one.

I'm skeptical of most blowout wins until I see more. The final quarter was run in 25.45 which extrapolates to a 150.81 9F time which is nothing special for that surface. Certainly ample room to improve after a lone start.

Intrepid Heart looks more suitable for the Belmont Stakes with his breeding.

Fountain of Youth winner not one of the individual betting choices in pool 2. Apparently Global Campaign grabbed a quarter in the race. Mutual field/all others in pool 2 may fill 2/3's of the Kentucky Derby starting gate.

This is why you get lousy win odds on the All Others 24 option but get a load of exacta combos on the cheap. This year might be more extreme than most.
If the Derby exacta ends up All Others/All Others then the highest placing listed horse fills the bottom of pool exacta. I boxed Game Winner with the ALL in first two pools.
Pool 3 this weekend could still yield some value with the All Others. The points race is tight and several are likely to jump up between now and conclusion of prep season. It's also perhaps the best pool to take a stab at a lesser known aiming for one of the big preps like Always Dreaming a couple years ago. I missed that boat but caught plenty of scraps at 1/6th the price in Pool 4.

I think 2/3's of the actual KD field @5/2 is great odds. I didn't bet the field to win, just in the exactas

Yes, 5/2 is excellent for that many solid contenders. I didn't realize it closed that high and don't recall a Pool 2 ever offering that kind of value. Like you, I played the field over and under several horses. I have the inevitable Dallas Stewart screwball covered.

Limonite and Global Campaigns poor runs put me behind the eight ball (both horses had legitimate excuses to me)-still like both horses and look for a big effort from Limonite next out (just threw a bullet today as a matter of fact).

This might be the year that a filly returns to the winner's circle in the Derby...

Bellafina keeps options open with Triple Crown nomination
By Kellie Reilly
Kaleem Shah’s star filly Bellafina is expected to remain in her own division on the path toward the Kentucky Oaks (G1), but connections have retained the option of taking on males.
The Simon Callaghan trainee was nominated to the Triple Crown by the deadline this past Saturday, and she’s been added to the nominations for the April 6 Santa Anita Derby (G1) as well.
