March Madness

Looking for a good run by Iowa St and Purdue...both can do some real damage.
Of course I'm rooting for my LSU Tigers. Back in the dance for the first time in years, albeit amid controversy with a suspended head coach.
Who ya got?

Two SEC teams survived meltdowns and stupidity to advance. Maybe it was a wakeup call for both. I like Auburn to go further than LSU.

Duke over Kentucky

I'm looking for Ja Morant to do the same thing for Murray St as Steph Curry did for Davidson. Pick his team up and carry them into the 2nd weekend of the tournament. Just like Davidson however, they'll run into a college basketball behemoth sooner than later, and the inevitable will happen.

Agreed, jocko.

I thought Zion charged when he drove to the bucket at the end. But UCF was great and Johnny Dawkins' son is sensational!

The UCF player was inside the line under the basket. That is a "no charge" zone. It is either a defensive foul or a no call. I could have accepted a no call in that situation. A blocking foul was a tough call at that point in the game.

Thanks kingfin for explaining that for me.

Barrett clearly pushed off to get the rebound on the missed free throw that led to the go ahead basket. But would we expect Duke to get a non call on that.

Interesting how different people view the calls. I thought UCF got most of the calls in the game. The basket they got after the shot clock was the worst call of the game putting them up 4. The ball clearly did not hit the rim. Then they had a chance to go up 6 with a 2 on 1 that they botched. I could see the Barrett possible foul but really only themselves to blame. Lot of shaky free throw shooters for Duke. I wonder if that will bite them down the line.

Final Four is set.
Been some great games....really exciting tournament so far.
Duke's late game fortunes ran out today.
Texas Tech & Auburn reach their first Final Four
I forgot how much I love college basketball

Gotta let 'em play!

Seeing that game, I'm not so impressed with Zion Williamson.

He sells great. Superstar for sure. A great player should do some winning in that situation. He certainly had the right setting.

Michigan State pretty much controlled the lead, but didn't pull away. Coach K and Duke made a nice rally in the 2nd half, and State had to 'answer', but they made the shot.

....................

FINAL 4

So, how the hell is Virginia favored over Auburn? Is that April Fools??
And it's 5points?

I haven't watched the season enough. I 'want' Virginia to win(and maybe they have some players from the DC-Area that I would root for), but from the elite-8 games, Auburn+5! looks like they will slice and dice VA at will w/ guard play.

Michigan State is -3point! favorites over Texas Tech. The Red Raiders of Texas Tech don't look like much.

Nice competitive action.

Auburn beat the spread, but there was a lot of emotion, momentum and luck in that wild game. I can't feel confident in my pick, postmortem. I'll take it.

MSU blowing out Texas Tech next.

14-11 11:39 1st half)

Tech has some big dudes...

MSU/Izzo/theGuards better take the initiative and execute, or this could be a long game with Texas Tech gaining confidence and hanging close. Tech is a danger to make a couple dunks and jump out with momentum.

Coaching beats athletes, but you have to take the initiative. You can't leave it up for grabs...

Losing the 6-10 big man hurts tech, but they're hanging tough.

Tech's calling card has been tough defense. Msu knew it going in, this is no surprise. Now it's just a matter if tech can hold off the Spartans inside game with the injury
