NYRA's a more prestigious gig than Churchill. Chic Anderson, for instance, went from Churchill TO NYRA. And NYRA announcers Fred Capposela, Dave Johnson, and Tom Durkin have all called the Kentucky Derby in place of the Churchill PA announcer on television.

If NYRA wants Collmus and puts down enough money, they can get him. The only PA announcing gig in America that is on a par with NYRA is Santa Anita.

I believe John Dooley's very first job in racing was in the NYRA press office.

I'd prefer Dooley get the job if I had my druthers.

If nyra puts down enough money they can get him lololol

Like he's the only person that can call a race good

Vic and Dave Rodman are better in my opinion

I was not commenting on who is the best. Really, I could care less who calls the races as long as the person is accurate. I didn't mind Marshall Cassidy so I'm not the person to ask.

I was commenting on the fact that if NYRA wants Collmus, they would have to hire him away from Churchill, but could, because it's a more prestigious job. If NYRA wants Rodman, obviously New York is a far bigger stage than Maryland, and if they want Vic, he'd be very easy to get, given that he doesn't have a significant announcing job at the moment.

His most famous call, the wives race, really wasn't special because of him. What made that call special was the 2 ironic horses running 1-2. He didn't make that happening special.

A solid announcer but nothing to give me tingles like his predecessor did. Either way, wish him luck.

He needs all the luck he can get, its a tough gig when you're following the best who's ever done something.
