Tracking Cookies
Last night I discovered that I had 49 different tracking cookies set in my computer. I'm using Firefox so I went to Tools/Options and tried to delete the cookies individually. They would not delete. I then deleted all cookies but when I closed and reopened they were back again. I ran Hit Man Pro 3.5 and it found the 49 cookies and deleted them. When I reopened and checked the Tools/Option they were all back. I ran Hit Man Pro again and it found the same 49 cookies again.
Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?

Try CCleaner and start using FF add on called TACO.

I've run Hitman Pro, CCleaner, Advanced System Care, Slim Cleaner and AVG 2012. As soon as one of programs finds and deletes the tracking cookies
something on my computer installs them again. I'm afraid I've got a bug somewhere. I have TACO and Do Not Track Plus add ons running with Firefox.

welcome to the club. I got a boat load on mine and AVG won't get rid of them.
what's up with that?
I put them in the vault and press delete and when I start up, there they are again.

Those could be dummy tracking cookies that TACO puts in a FF folder.

Wouldn't think 49 would slow anything up or cause problems. Is it essential that you delete them? I delete temporary files routinely, but leave the cookies alone for the most part. They're more of an asset than a liability unless you have a boat load. I'm far from knowing what most do here, just something I've always believed.

Marshall I always leave the normal everyday cookies but remove those that are
tracking my activity on the internet. All 49 of these cookies that I cannot remove are the bad tracking type.
Anyone know how to delete TACO so I can check to see if they are False Cookies that TACO put on my computer. I just downloaded it in the last 2 weeks so that could be the problem.

I've an old list of 264 sites of cookies to add in for BLOCK.
If anybody is interested, PM me with an email and I'll send the text file.
FF doesn't allow any editing of the file that includes these cookie Blocks, thus each one requires manual adding.

Super Cookies
Those might be those super cookies installed by the flash player. I use an add on in FireFox called Better Privacy to remove them. When you close the browser, you get a message they are about to delete some super cookies and if it is OK or not. You can go to the dialog box and choose to keep those for some companies are to always delete them. I never keep them unless I like the company.

The flash player "thingys" are not cookies, although many sites are using them more aggressively (and in place of cookies).
That are named ".sol".

I uninstalled TACO and Do Not Track Plus and the tracking cookies went away so they must have been "Dummy" cookies as DJofSD thought.
I installed Ghostery to block any new tracking cookies and I'd give it a two thumbs up for how it is working.
