....Mueller, whose mandate is to investigate the Trump campaign's ties to Russia and any criminal behavior he discovers in the course of that inquiry, did not bring the charges against Cohen, instead referring the matter to prosecutors with the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York. It is unclear what Cohen is discussing with Mueller's office, or what information he might be providing.

This revelation comes on the same day that former Trump campaign chair Paul Manafort, who was convicted last month of bank and tax fraud related to his dealings with Eastern European political strongmen, has accepted a plea bargain ahead of a scheduled second trial, and is now cooperating with the Russia investigation.

Over the last month, President Donald Trump’s former attorney Michael Cohen reportedly spent hours cooperating with special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigators.

According to a report from ABC News, Cohen has been in multiple interview sessions pertaining to the Russia probe into the 2016 presidential election.

The questioning was related to Trump’s dealings with Russia and potential collusion with Russia by the Trump campaign, sources told ABC News. The investigators also reportedly asked whether Trump or any of his associates discussed the possibility of a pardon.

Cohen, who once said he “would take a bullet for the president,” voluntarily participated in the interviews, according to ABC. He is also cooperating with a separate investigation into the Trump Foundation.

In August, Cohen pleaded guilty to charges of bank fraud, tax fraud and campaign finance violations. He claimed he made an illegal campaign contribution with Trump’s knowledge and direction.

Michael Cohen has been revealing all he knows about President Donald Trump and his family to investigators — and MSNBC’s Donny Deutsch said they should be worried.

The longtime Trump attorney has been talking to Robert Mueller about Russia collusion, and Vanity Fair reporter Emily Jane Fox told MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” that Cohen is talking to federal prosecutors about possible campaign finance violations and the New York attorney general about the Trump Foundation.

The trip was a key claim in the dossier written by a former British spy, which made explosive claims about Trump’s conspiracy with Russia to steal the 2016 election.

The document said that Cohen was dispatched to meet with a powerful Kremlin figure to coordinate Russian meddling.

If Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation had proof that the visit happened, despite denials, any of President Donald Trump’s denials about what happened at the meeting would come under intense scrutiny.
