Served 700 today
Up 200 from last Sunday.
We might have broken even today. Close. Still down 900-1000 from pre-virus numbers. But still steadily climbing.
We are going to try and stay open. I think we can skin by ......cash flow is low......but we may get another month in......restaurants are closing all over Houston. We still have about 10-15 laid off.
A few of my employees are really stepping up.
Hoping for the numbers to continue to improve.
Cross your fingers
One block from my restaurant tonight a mall was surrounded by cops due to a “threat of looting”

I can not help but think that things are connected. George Soros was behind the caravans of south american migration to our border not too long ago. Now every major liberal city having problems with people looting and fires. I smell the same old fat rat funding anti American efforts to destabilize business in general.

it is a shame so many of the rioters will catch covid19 and bring it home. Even DeBlasio's daughter got arrested for civil disobedience.

And yes we can - an NO point has COVID been close to as deadly and easily spread as Spanish Flu was.

The Spanish Flu was a once in a century pandemic. You deniers have been wrongly comparing the coronavirus to the SEASONAL FLU!
All you can do is jump up and down frantically denying:
United States
Coronavirus Cases:
1,837,170
Deaths:
106,195
In 3 months.
For you and the other no hear, no see, head in the sand GHOULS.
YOU GHOULS....!!.

A very bad situation for sure.
Wasn't a good situation for the protesters against lockdowns either.
I can't remember if you pointed this out in that situation, too? They were pretty crowded together.
|
Yes, I did, early on.
I even called out the WH TASK FORCE for not wearing mask and not social distancing.
Most of the protesters I saw were wearing masks. And they were not endangering police by FORCING them to being contact with them.
But then, that was not your point, now was it?

You are right about that.
But I do think my seasonal flu shot helps some, at least I "think" if I get it I may get a milder case. I don't expect it to be ultimately protective against actual transmission.
So my faith is simply that some anti-virals can shorten duration and a vaccine may help some.
I remember going to doctor to update on an autoimmune thing I have, he had just been to a conference about it and literally told me "nothing new for you, only thing I can suggest is that over the next decade you hang in there because they might come up with something that will help you."
In other words, try to wait it out and hope for the best. My faith is in the idea that science will come up with a trick or 2 that may help here.....at least to ameliorate the duration, symptoms, etc.

Thank you, Tom. My point was to ask for a reminder of how evenly people apply their positions......it came off as a tad snarky didn't it. It probably was, given my mood at the time I wrote it. Anyway, I can't remember everything everybody says, and that includes you, so as not to put words in your mouth...... I asked. You answered. Guess we're on the same page, as we often are with abuses to race horses, suspensions, etc. and on other stuff, not.
At any rate, you pointing out that the very population who is most at risk with covid-19 also happens to be a large % of the population who were involved in the rioting....its sad, like they got a double whammy over the weekend and this will not result in a good situation, on that we can agree.

There were peaceful parts of the protests with the police chief kneeling with the protesters but we're only going to hear about the smashing stuff and an endless tour of violent videos.
Never have we had so much information at our disposal and so little knowledge. It's impossible to figure out what's going on amidst all the noise.
FWIW, the whackjobs were always among us, 328,000,000 people in the U.S. you gotta know that there's huge %s of whackjobs mixed in.

I didn't see too many people over 40 out protesting. I think the most at-risk group were at their respective nursing homes or maintaining a low profile at home.
