Mohawk Sep 6/16- Picks&Reasons
I wanted to share my picks for tonight at Mohawk, I haven't posted in a few years, but have followed generously. Let me know your feedback, I enjoy racing discussions.
Race 1 #5- Delcrest Magicstar:
She comes from the McKinnon barn and so far has been tried a couple starts at GRVR and has improved her finish times with 2 seconds difference. She was then brought to the big track and ran a solid 1:59 with a 57.3 back half. Seemed like Jamesy Mac kind of floated him around the track in his most recent. I expect a big improvement and I am liking the horses chance. WIN RATE: 8/10
Race 3 #8 Exit Sandman- WATCHER
Race 4 #7- Richard Hill:
Alagna and Waples combo has been on point. This Mach Three colt was in tough the past 2 races, in against some tough competition. He back into an overnight where he raced similar competition and won with a back half of 54 seconds. His last outing he matched his lifetime best on the Mohawk circuit, which leads me to believe he’s feeling good. 9.5/10
Race 5 #3- Big Rich:
Was technically off for a month of racing from July 19 to Aug 19 when he pushed the rail position and was sputtering his legs crossed the finish line. His next start a week later he picked his game up. Although finishing a unimpressive 5th he improved by 2 seconds. He specs like he’s ready to pop. 8/10
Race 6- #9 Parkhill Maverick- WATCHER
Race 7 #2 KG Chayenne:
Looks like the 8 months off has helped the horse gain some strencgth. He’s had one start since his back to back qualifiers and is looking like he’s rounding into form. He’s a sleeper, but can race with this type. 6.5/10
Race 9 #4- Scotty Mach: (MY BET OF THE NIGHT)
First time Marty Fine, I love when he starts claiming. He can bring life into a horse and take seconds off their previous race times. He’s been in competitive form, but hasn’t been able to get the job done with previous trainers. I am loving the trainer change and for that reason only Scotty Mach is my bet of the night.
In no way am I looking to encourage gambling. Play at your own risk. Enjoy the card!

You have to love harness racing:
#7 breaks stride and never makes it to starting gate & #2 breaks right after the start!
Results:
R #1 = 9-5-6-1 –EX & TRI BX
$2.00 EXACTA – 9-5 - $80.00
$2.00 TRIFECTA – 9-5-6 - $462.40

I'm going to post a couple of minutes later. When the tote shows 3 mins to post there's actually 7 or 8 mins before the gate starts moving. Maybe I'll be able to pick up on that late action.
