My belief is that the game will contract and then be re-born as a single business entity. It could be Magna or CDi that pulls this off, but not without a lot of directional change.
Some will be smart enough to re-invent themselves. We (HorseStreet) have to do the same thing. The HorseStreet operation six months from now will probably be quite different from what we are now.
Adapt or die. It is that simple.

I agree that that game is not going to die, but it is possible that it could be dramatically different in the future as there will almost assuredly be material changes.
If the game were to die (or become completely unpalatable) I guess I would go back to playing polo or maybe finally learn to play hockey.

I'll play that horse race game at the state fair, where you keep pushing the button to make your horse go around the fastest. Then I'll win a big stuffed animal instead of $3.20 on a 3/5 drug addled nag.

I would definately go back into the Mexican Navy.
Had I stayed in and gone thru their 2 weeks of intense officer training, I woulda been a General by now. At least a Colonel anyway.

I'd become a Biblical Scholar. It's easier to comprehend the Bible than the form cycle of horses.

One more vote for play more golf.
More poker & pool as well.
Judging by the above, the game is about dead for me anyway.

I would play online poker. Most of us would move to some other form of gambling because we are gamblers. The real question is what if they shut down online gambling period? I guess I could take up bridge again.

I play a little poker, but I wouldn't play any other gambling. And Online poker, no way!
I play the horses because it is different. I love the challenge. I don't play and have never played Blackjack or Craps or anything else in spite of spending plenty of time in Vegas over the years. I spent it in the race book.

Unfortunately the Game has already died.
Sorry to tell you all that.
What's left if not a game, it's very serious.
