Oscar winner Louis Gossett Jr. dead at 87

Louis Gossett Jr., who won a supporting actor Oscar for playing the hard-as-nails drill instructor in 1982’s “An Officer and a Gentleman” a few years after winning an Emmy for his role as the cunning Fiddler in “Roots,” died early Friday morning. He was 87.

The other movie I remember Lou Gossett, Jr., was in was Enemy Mine with Dennis Quaid. He did a fantastic job as the alien.

Liked him in a movie where he was part of a con job in taking one several boxers in one 24 hour period to screw over the local cheat played by Bruce Dern..Diggstown...good movie
