Harvard says that they are "deeply committed to creating a diverse student body". Isn't this a racist comment in and of itself? Why favor "diversity" at the expense of 'student excellence'? Doesn't "diversity" mean that certain races get preferential treatment over others?

Whenever someone of higher ability is denied so someone of lesser ability can be accepted, for the benefit of "diversity"...then this is nothing less than RACISM. The institutions of higher learning should be rewarding ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT...they shouldn't be pandering to political whims.

That is exactly right. At Berkeley a few years ago they were trying to find a way to limit the number of Asian students. The fact that they were the most qualified was not important. They wanted more "minorities". Although many had to overcome incredible hardships Asians are not considered a minority by universities and the government because they are not underachievers.

For all practical and political purposes, the left is only concerned with discrimination against blacks and hispanics. Well...they're not at all concerned about them generally speaking, just they're ability to vote.
