Cali Steward told "Apologize to Stra"
from the article :
“Kayla Stra's baby can be in the jocks' room. Her nanny can be with the baby. And both the mother and the nanny can do all the things they need to do. The CHRB will not tolerate discrimination in any form against anyone for any reason. No special rooms. No one goes to the back of the damn bus. Period. In order for a new mother to do her job, certain accommodations need to be made. We clearly do not have a nursery at any of our race tracks, and I don't expect them to be constructed any time soon. Not only can a jockey also be a mother, I'd like to encourage women to consider the possibility and the profession. It is the right thing to do and it is good business.
“Reach out to Stra right now, call her in, straighten this out, restore full rights in the jock's room, and then put her on the phone with me so I can apologize to her on behalf of the CHRB. Thank you.”

Would love to know how the stewards took this?

If I was riding with her, I'd sure be claiming foul every time she breathed near me and potentially cost me a placing.
Gotta go with Israel on this one.
The link in your post doesn't seem to work, maybe this one will:

Nobody cares which Steward said that she has to be a jockey or a mother?

I guess Kayla isn't going to get any close calls going her way anytime soon up in the booth...

“That’s what upset me the most,” Stra said. “At that time I didn’t know anything about the state work place law that allows women to (breast-feed) their babies and have them at work if they have to. I was feeding my baby in my car before that.”
This is the telling part. Thankfully she was nt forced to use a restroom.

Playing Devil's advocate...are women really allowed to bring a crying baby to work with them and just hang out with it all day? I would think that would be a bit disruptive to the workplace, no?
How is that any different here? If I were another female jock, the last thing I really want is to go back to the jocks room after a race and deal with a crying baby...

On top of that is a jocks room the best place for a baby? Lots of spitting up going on in a jocks room I guess so it fits.

The judges are going to be totally professional, this has no bearing at all on how they call an inqury.
How did you like my Vic impersonation, pretty good, eh?

Fwiw, Stra is a "Headley" and they are related to Ingrid Fermin who used to be a big shot at the CHRB. Not sure what Ingrid is up to these days, but its interesting that the CHRB came to Kayla's "rescue" with a very strong statement to the stewards.

Wouldn't it be nice if Big Papi brought Little Papi to the ballpark with him every day?
Seriously though - pro tennis player Kim Clijsters had a baby - don't know if she took time off or brought the lil tot on tour with her.

oh and this is slightly off topic, but does anyone else think that when Kayla Stra ( img ) looks similar to Nicole Tubiola ( safe images )?
