Vaguely.
Are you looking for the rules?
They're in NewPace, which I am pretty sure you have.

Tom,
There's a lot of content in those old threads.
I'm not sure which specific post gave you what you were looking for.
Please clue me in.
IOW, I don't really know what you are searching for.

[QUOTE=Dave Schwartz;2766737]There's actually another approach I really like - the 90% Confidence Interval approach that I shared in NewPace.
ONE OF THE BEST THINGS you ever included in New Pace

My quick 2 cents worth...
1. Forget the par time for the class. This race may well be for horses 2 levels up or down from "par."
2. For each horse in the race, count how many pacelines he has.
10 lines, take the 3rd best, 4th worst
8-9 lines, take the 2nd best, 3rd worst
5-7 lines, take the best, 2nd worst
2-4 throw out worst, average rest
1 well, that's what you've got
Average the selected speed ratings.
3. Now you have a speed rating for each horse.
4. Rank the field from top to bottom.

YES!
That's it!
This was a slight modification from the book, done from a bit of study.
It is not so good working with individual horses, yet, for the purpose of a "race par" it works pretty well.

Yes.
And how many years has it been since we met?
I'm thinking it was about 2005?
(Las Vegas, we were staying at Caesar's.)

I too enjoyed those videos. Good stuff and food for thought. I would like to see you do more of them.
