This is true. I caught right away.

I miss Vic at Gulfstream, terribly, terribly so; but there is a great deal about Gulfstream that one can miss these days.

V J Stauffer:

Thought you'd introduce yourself as "long time listener, 1st time CALLER".
This race was a heartbreaker. "Cushion track like a mattress"...got by the sensors.

I expect they had more trouble getting by the sensors than the censors.

So, Vic, will you be taking off early again anytime soon? Talk about getting by the censors......

I enjoyed your interview on Lady Luck last night, and thank you for your enlightening explanation of the Thorograph numbers. I have always admired your confidence in them. You can almost convince a person that the price tag is worth it. I opened an account and will observe for awhile, but to be honest, if they are only half as good as you claim them to be, twice the price would be fair.

Nice to see you here.

Carry on, Carry on,

I truly enjoy Vic's racecalling and hopefully will for a long time, but Larry Collmus does a terrific job in his own right. I remember him from years ago at Monmouth Park, and he's very smooth and accurate. I was dismayed when Vic got his email from Gulfstream Park, but was thrilled when Larry got the job at GP. Theres not 2 announcers Id rather listen to than Vic or Larry, tho Dave Rodman comes in a close 3rd, in my book. Great job by all guys. It almost seems an honor to have one of my horses in a race called by one of them.

I race mostly at Calder, so its like being at home to hear Bobby Neuman call my races. I hope that race announcers realize how much they add to our enjoyment of racing.

Who is the announcer who does I think Turf Paradise and if the horse is a high odds and wins he says "hello and he's 20 to 1" something like that. This is not a very good clue I guess.

You're possibly thinking of Keith Jones at Philadelphia park.

Welcome aboard Vic

Welcome to PA. It's about time! I had the pleasure of meeting you at Del Mar in August 2005. You were there doing freelance work for TVG and had just finished interviewing Baffert in the WC after What a Song (what a shame) won the feature. Talk about a class act. You are the #1 race caller and a great guy too. How's that for sucking up?
