Sad news indeed. In any conversation, hers was a voice that would always bring you back to what was important in this game.
And, WinterTriangle, what a touching tribute.
Condolences to her family and friends.

This was my favorite thread by Joanie and always loved her passion for the animals. God just got a very good steward for his stables.
RIP JoanieD

Last year I noticed her abscence and tried to reach her with no luck. I thought something bad must have happened to her. Hope she wasnt suffering this long. I feel somewhat empty knowing she has passed rather than just stopped posting on PA.

Oh wow, how sad.
Joanied had once shared her life story with me on this very board. I always hoped she would make it once again to a major racetrack as she yearned to do so badly. A hard worker, she was, and she will be missed.

The last time I conversed with Joanie, she was hoping to go to the BC races last fall. Don't know if she made it.

OMG...I am so saddened by this.I reconnected Joanied with her old brotherinlaw last year.I made the connection for her due to her wanting to clear up some life issues she wanted to put at peace. She was a grand lady who always put herslf last for others or a animal at need.I will miss her.Rest in peace dear Joanied and please give the big horse you loved so much a pat for me. The world lost a great horsewoman. God Bless you Joanied.

Shocking news. We were all the better for Joanied's contribution to this forum. Like many of us, I learned much from her posts and will miss her heartfelt knowledge of the sport we all love so much. Condolences to her husband and the family. RIP Joanied.
