DEL MAR ***TRACKPHANTOM***

7-16-15

DEL MAR RACE 1
CLM 12,500 – 1M DIRT (2:05 PT)

8 INDIAN NATE 10-1
4 THE MAD HUNGARIAN 12-1
10 AMERICAN ACT 5-1
13 OLYMPIC BLUE 5-1

8 INDIAN NATE
Lightly raced 5YO gelding was 2nd the last time he wasn’t on turf. It was at 5-1 in a good starter allw at DMR last Nov. Blinkers went on 3 back and that failed. Should be able to rate in behind a fast pace. Sadler won with 9 of his past 23 starters. Should get a great trip.

4 THE MAD HUNGARIAN
Ran evenly first off the claim last out when he was in for 25k. Now drops back to the level he likely needs to be at to be competitive. This trainer has been sneaky with reclamation projects. 4 for 10 on a fast dirt track. Agarie has been very deliberate with his AM works.

DMR RACE 1 (4:00 PT) -- MDN CLM 80,000 – 5F DIRT
3 LAST ONE STANDING 4-1
4 BENESH 4-1
5 TWISTED EARL 8-1
2 NAVY HYMN 5-2

3 LAST ONE STANDING
Miller has 4 wins in 5 starts with 2YO’s in high maiden claiming at DMR (claiming 62,500 and above). He works them very similar to this. Miller had 2 wins, 1 second and 3 thirds on opening day. Tabs a top rider for this.

4 BENESH
Clockers had his move on July 11th, in 58.4, very good. Easily outworked an older runner. He was in pretty deep in his last start. 3rd ran 3rd in the SA Juv at 18-1 next, then won a MSW at LRC, as did the runner-up. Look for better.

DMR RACE 1 (2:05 PT)

CLM 25,000 – 1M DIRT
2 DYNAMITE RIDE 3-1
4 AFLEET IN TIME 5-2
3 TIZ JOLIE 5-1
1 MR. CARTAGENA 7-2

2 DYNAMITE RIDE
Exits a race in which the speed went sub :22. May have moved a bit too soon and it weakened him to get caught by the deep closer. Didn’t handle the turf in the 4 races prior. This is a good spot. Baze sits the perfect trip.

4 AFLEET IN TIME
Was third in the same race the top choice ran 2nd. He got a nice trip behind the quick pace but couldn’t get to the top two late. 2 for 7 on dirt. Bejarano was up for the latest win. Will be flying late. He needs to break cleanly.

DMR RACE 1 (2:05 PT)

CLM 25,000 – 6.5F DIRT
1 KEEZHEEKONI 3-1
6 NAZARETH 12-1
8 SWEET PROFIT 5-2
4 KRISTINITE 4-1

1 KEEZHEEKONI
Projects to be controlling speed from the rail. Big rider move to top jock, Bejarano. The rail will ensure connections send her to try and control it. 3rd, 7th from last won back (allw, 70 Beyer & 25k, 65 Beyer). Wire to wire.

6 NAZARETH
2nd try on dirt. The first dirt try was two starts back. She broke awfully, went to her knees, and was eliminated. Was steadied in last, first start with Flores up. Clockers have her doing ok in the AM. Will get a stalking trip.

7-22-15

DMR RACE 1 (2:05 PT)

CLM 16,000 – 6F DIRT
1 SILVERTRON 3-1
3 JUSTONEMORETHING 5-1
6 DOMINGO CAT 7-2
7 CRAZY AL 6-1

1 SILVERTRON
Similar to a shipper, 2-1 winner here in ’14, Friendly Bantor, same owners and ridden by Desormeaux. Clearly didn’t handle the off-track in last, ran last at even money. Hess/Kent D have won 2x already here. Good trip likely.

3 JUSTONEMORETHING
Really like his running style. Appears to be enough speed to set up for one sitting just behind it. Van Dyke with Kruljac has won at 27% and Van Dyke was up for the maiden win at SA three back. Excellent worktab. Looks live.

DMR RACE 1 (4:00 PT) MDN CLM 40,000 – 6.5F DIRT

6 FASHIONED GEM 6-1
8 LYNN’S CHANCIE 8-1
8 BLONDY’S REWARD 8-1
2 JAZZED 3-1

6 FASHIONED GEM
Going to side with the clockers in this spot. Both reports say this filly looked good in the morning. She didn’t show much on the turf in the debut but she did get in tight on the turn. Prat up for recent moves. Tab tote for clues.

8 LYNN’S CHANCIE

Trainer has had two wins and a close 2nd in last three debut starts. All three went off at long odds. This is a good spot for a firster and the works for this filly are very decent. Bred to win early and clockers say she has good speed.

RACE 6 (4:40 PT) -- MSW 72,000 – 6F DIRT

7 EXAGGERATOR 6-1
4 DRESSED IN HERMES 12-1
1 PATH OF DAVID 9-2
2 AMERICAN LEAGUE 7-2

7 EXXAGGERATOR
Debut looked like just a run out on the track. He was 29-1 and didn’t have Desormeaux up. Got serious since then in the drills, got high clocker comments for last 2 moves. Connections won w/ 2nd time 2YO here last week.

4 DRESSED IN HERMES
Modestly bred runner has been working since April but goes in a MSW at DMR, knowing it will be a tough spot. Trainer has won 3 of her past 5 starts, all for this ownership. Work on July 18th is serious, even at a faster track.

DMR RACE 6 (4:40 PT)
BING CROSBY-G1 300,000 – 6F DIRT

5 MASOCHISTIC 6-5
2 DISTINCTIV PASSION 4-1
1 KOBE’S BACK 6-1
4 WILD DUDE 10-1

5 MASOCHISTIC
Ellis has been training this super gelding to relax a bit early. Was super impressive just cantering with the pace last out and went clear in the lane. Working like a freak in the morning. Might be the best sprinter in the country.

2 DISTINCTIV PASSION
If last is any indication, top pick will be allowed to relax a bit in the early going. That will allow this one to control the pace. It should come down to a stretch run between them. 4 wins in his last 7. Should be tough to pass.

RACE 1 (2:05 PT)

STR ALLW 40,000 – 6F DIRT
1 HE WILL 5-2
6 PRODIGIOUS 6-1
7 OIL 2-1
5 BOOMPA 5-1

1 HE WILL
Both clocker reports have this one going well in the morning. He has had Prat up in those works and he’s up here. This is a private purchase for Hollendorfer, who is 33% with long layoffs and starting at Del Mar. Will be saving ground and look for a duel up front. Looks ready to fire.

6 PRODIGIOUS
Hess hits at a 25% clip with Desormeaux up on a runner first off the shelf and at Del Mar. This one was a bomb in the 13 horse field in last. That was a strong field as the 5th place finisher (beaten 10), Pat the Bear, won back at same 40k level.

RACE 1 (2:05 PT)

CLM 25,000 – 1M DIRT
2 LA CASADORA 5-2
5 ITZ A SAINT 4-1
6 WILD CAROLINE 3-1
3 GRAMMY TIMES SIX 7-2

2 LA CASADORA
Back to back wins for this filly. She was claimed in last by Spawr and is coming back after a 10 week layoff. Trainer, owner teamed up this exact move in ’14, claimed, back at DMR for 25k, off a layoff and won at 5-1.

5 ITZ A SAINT
Loves the distance (10 of 10 in the money at a mile, 4 wins). Comes in off a long break for Baltas. Clockers say she is working well and has had Pedroza up in the AM. Could get the run of the race just off main speed.

8-1-15

RACE 1 (2:05 PT) CLM 16,000 – 1M DIRT
5 AMERICAN ACT 2-1
1 INDIAN NATE 5-2
4 MOONLIGHT MEETING 4-1
6 MAXX THE GIANT 20-1

5 AMERICAN ACT
High percentage 1st off a claim trainer who was 2 for 4 when 1st off a claim here at DMR in 2014. This runner runs hard but hasn’t been able to get over the hump. Many of his races were against him from pace flow. Not today.

1 INDIAN NATE
Had him on top in last, the first race of this meet. He did run a very decent race, making a mid race move and just going a bit flat late. Was only a couple of noses behind the top pick. Like that Sadler bumps him up here.

8-2-15

RACE 1 (2:05 PT)
MDN CLM 50,000 – 6.5F DIRT

3 NITE DELITE 7-2 Bejarano
4 OLYMPIC LADY 8-1 Quinonez
1 PRECIOUS TIME 15-1 Pereira
6 KISS MY FACE 9-2 Gonzalez

3 NITE DELITE
Can excuse last. She went like a quarterhorse early facing open MSW and tired. Winner of debut won 2x since including the 192k Fleet Treet. 3 others won their next start including 10th, Rockin Dorita, who beat some in here.

4 OLYMPIC LADY
Made up good late ground in both starts here at DMR. The debut race was excellent and she ran too good to lose. On the rail in last but passed some late at 21-1. Better here.

8-5-15

DMR RACE 1 (2:05 PT)

CLM 50,000 – 5F TURF

5 NEXT RIGHT 6-1

2 PAT THE BEAR 5-2
3 BOBBY Z MAN 6-1
8 U S CITIZEN 7-2

5 NEXT RIGHT
Half to 2 BC placed runners, Smiling Tiger, 3rd in the ’10 BC Sprint, She’s a Tiger. Has run pretty well on grass at SA down the hill. Last nine 5F turf races at DMR, speed has won 7 of them. 1st and 4th from last both came back to win here. 2nd two back won twice since then. He will need to be caught.

2 PAT THE BEAR
Always been something here ever since he had an awful trip in the debut and then was bet down from 10-1 ML to the 4-5 favorite in his second start. Only once out of the exacta for Miller. Handled the turf fine three back. Winner was 3rd in a 200k stakes next.

8-6-15

DMR RACE 5 (4:10 PT)

MD CLM 62,500–1M 1/16 TURF
7 ADMIRAL JAXON 15-1
2 BIG DISCOVERY 3-1
3 NAKAMOTO 5-2
6 ARCHITOP 7-2

7 ADMIRAL JAXON
He was very well-meant in his last start but the gates opened too soon and he was left far behind. He still ran well for 5th. Clockers were high on his works going into that race and he was bet down. Mullins has 4 wins at the meet and 8 of 14 have hit the board.

2 BIG DISCOVERY
Yakteen took over the training in his last start and he ran well for 3rd at roughly this same level. Blinkers go on and Bejarano, who has won 56% for this trainer, is aboard today. 5th from last came back to win here at this level at 10-1 last week for R Baltas.
