They didn't pay the electric bill at Delta again!

Another "electrical" delay with the Delta lights.

I cringe at how they have made a field of maidens circle the walking ring for 35 minutes past scheduled post for the third race, and have just announced a FURTHER delay of up to 45 minutes to get the problem fixed.

This is an all-too-frequent problem at Delta.

How long do you think it would take to get this problem fixed for good if the slot machine area went dark?

It happens way too many times for sure. The track is very old and theres no telling how old those lights are. They can build a hotel right next to the track but they cant put new lights in. Go figure..

Now one hour past scheduled post, meaning the horses have been out of their stalls & led around by a groom for a good 90 minutes

...and now that they're finally coming out onto the track, Don Stevens asks bettors (in all seriousness!) "To please make your wagers as early as you can."

Love this freakin game!

Delta Downs is probably the most rural track I know of.
Just North of I-10 near the Texas border...about an hour or so to Lake Charles, La and a few hours to Houston.

That's in the middle of nowhere - not surprised that things like this happen often and take a long time to fix.
No one is in a hurry, sometimes not even the jockeys.

Was kind of rooting for the cancel...

Alive in a P4 structured 3x2x1x1 and now I have to sweat out my singles.

Would have walked away with a small conso profit if they pulled the plug (on the card, not the lights).

Nice call. I couldn't pull the trigger there.

Whazzup!

I didn't bet anything...did a 2min handicap (we've all done it) and picked that horse for fun.
I like his trainer, Brian House...did he win that photo?

It's every week. With Penn and Ct cancelling it is the only game in town. Get it together already
