Indictments against Russian nationalists

We've heard about Russians trying to influence our election for the past year. Now indictments are being handed down.

I'm failing to see the huge deal here. Surely we try to influence foreign elections. Hell, we'll even take out a leader. That's real influence.

So is this sort of like spying? Where we act all butt hurt when it's done to us while it's what we should be doing to others?

Let's assume for a moment that Trump and anyone related to him is 10000000000000% innocent of any wrongdoing on this matter. Okay? So you don't have a problem with a foreign power attempting to impact a US election???? Wow.

With all that's been going on and all that's been reported, I'm confused.

Did the DNC/Hillary/etc. attempt to use "foreign powers" to influence the election when they paid for the creation of the infamous "DOSSIER?"

Just curious and need to have that question settled in my head before I comment further.

Now that it's out there, questions and the attending controversy about it will start getting less and less.Maybe Trump's starting to wise up on how things work.

Buy on the rumor, sell on the news as they say on Wall Street.

Again, it's sort of like spying. We don't want it to happen to us, and surely should try to prevent it, but don't we expect foreign governments to try? And don't we expect our own government to spy on foreign governments?

They’ve been doing it for years. You think this is the first time?
Mueller is reaching here

I don't understand how your brain functions. Somehow you're seeing this in some partisan light, and tossing around grenades. Yet no one in this forum has been more consistently wrong on everything political. There's an old and true saying about keeping mum and the repercussions of opening one's mouth.

Such as?

And I remind you that you're the one that just said that the Russians being up to their elbows in our elections is no big deal and we should stop being "butt hurt". You'd be saying the same thing if Hilly won, right?

Really, Mueller has diddly squat if this is his next move.

This investigation has really gone off course. Charging some Russians for "trolling" is what I see.

No.

They paid for opposition research and intelligence on Trump. The result of that research and intelligence led to the investigator telling his buddy at the FBI.

So there were no foreign agents feeding information in order to create this dossier?

The creator of the dossier himself isn't a foreign agent? Pretty sure he is ex-British intelligence, no? And he relied on Russians for a nice chunk of the dossier, did he not?

Again, I may be confused (happens often).

Personally, I'm happy to see the special investigation is doing something about the Russian interference that everyone but the current administration admits is happening.
