Mike on Collected looked just like Mike on Arrogate

Now we know where the fault lies---and its not Arrogate. What a joke, the guy along with Baffert never miss opportunity to stiff bettors.

Yeah, he goes to the lead at Del Mar on a suspect, likely closer favoring track, but here is Silky Sullivan. Not necessarily Smith's fault, Baffert may have wanted a Pegasus prep.

I bet against him, as I would imagine most serious players because this race wasnt that important.

With that said I had a fast race design, not a slow one, not sure how the 4-5-6 all decided that they would be best off rating, and the 3 three who had come off the pace had was on the lead.

It doesn't matter who you bet on, that was piss poor. Collected should have been in the lead by 5 lengths after a 1/2 in 48.0

Hoping that leads to some value when I actually do bet him, likely next out.

I was on the same boat in which I felt the might get the easy lead as might let him go cuz of no concern of him winning.

Instead....

gets the lead with Gary Stevens on board and crawls to absurd splits for this quality of horses and has more engine than a Ferrari left for the stretch.

Sometimes you really have to wonder what they were thinking.

"It was a bad ride. It was my fault," said Smith, who took over riding Collected for Martin Garcia, who relocated to New York. "I slipped leaving the gate. We should have been on the lead. Then they were going too slow and we couldn't get there in the end."

He should have just zipped it after the "my fault" part.

Exactly right, those great gate jockeys are in the past. Purses are so big today the trying to blast out of the gate is not what it use to be.
