Printing/Marking up DRF PPs (PDF files)

I have not yet gotten a good answer from DRF Support on this, so thought I might ask here.

I mostly use BRISnet PPs (sourced free through my ADW with wagers) and Equibase PPs (via STATS RaceLens). I am able to download, and either print them and/or mark them up on my iPad.

To print large PDF files (like PPs), I copy the PDF to a flash drive and print them out on a copier (that is not on any network, but has a flash drive input) since it's cheaper to use than printer toner, especially when there's color. This is no problem with BRISnet/Equibase files.

I have some free DRF PPs available through DRF Bets. Thought I'd make use of them for the BC. However, when I download THOSE files, I run into issues because the files are password encrypted. So no copying the file to print on copier, and no marking it up on iPad. (The file copies fine to the flash drive, but the copier puts it in a password encrypted area and won't print it.)

Was hoping someone here may have dealt with the same issue at some point.

Thanks for any and all help!

Probably too many pages for this…….

But you could open them on the iPad and take a screen shot of the pages, save them to photos and then print those? You could mark those up prior to printing

The screenshot function on the iPad is one of the best features.

I sometimes download the Race of the Day from DRF - I save them as a PDF and I can print them, mark them up in Foxit......

Maybe the free ones are not protected?

As Tom suggested you could "print" the file as a pdf. It won't remove the protection but it could make the file printable on the copier. I have done this before with protected pdf files.

Thanks to all who offered suggestions!

Based on some of them, I was able to use the option in Mac Preview to "Export to PDF", which created a PDF file that was unprotected. This was able to be brought over to the copier and printed.

I figured if there was a place to go to ask for help - this was it - and I was not disappointed!
