Boy I missed out on a huge payday today. Don't know if you remember a STAKES TOP-3 method I posted for Derby Day.
Anyway Tony S from New Jersey had sent me a packet of plays, methods, etc....most of you know Tony S. He collaborated with the late Dr Pitkin on some things.
Well I happened to notice a method that was for stakes races only-there was no name on it--nothing. Just one of those methods that goes around for years.
Having no method at all for stakes and graded races--I hung on to it. Naturally I "fixed it" as horseplayers all think they know more than the next guy.
I programmed it (it was simple but more than a little unusual.) Part of my "fixing" was to make the method's minimum purse 100K--so not NECESSARILY a "stakes-graded race-only method.
So you know the back-story...now I went to researching it. I still have data files from Breeder's Cup, etc...and darn if the method didn't show a profit. It was a little erratic but worth keeping.
I went ahead and posted the selections for this past Derby Day.
The way this method makes selections--there will be 3--and only 3 picks per race. It's recommended to box these 3 picks in exactas.
I spent $84.00 on $2 exacta boxes that day--and returned appx twice that.
So I post 'em up again on Preaknes day--a big fat zero. I think I hit one exacta--or maybe two small ones. But I lost money I can tell you that.
So along comes todays pre-Belmont races. I wasn't thinking about this method at all--although there were Stakes the last pick-4 races.
To my chagrin---the Stakes Top-3 method nailed the 1.5K pick-4...and the $400 pick-3.
Meanwhile...I boxed em up and won a grand total of $5 bucks.
Here's Fridays Stakes top-3 method:
