RULES OF PLAY
(revised to April 29th at 12:40 am EST)
1. There is NO ENTRY FEE to play this contest.
2. Each player receives a $1,000 Bankroll for the two-day contest. $500 to be used on Friday, April 30th and $500 to be used on Saturday, May 1st.
3. Track in play is Churchill Downs.
4. Eligible races are 1 to 12 on Friday and 1 to 11 on Saturday. The final race of the contest is the Kentucky Derby. Races after the Derby are not in play.
5. Players must play six races per day for a total of twelve races throughout the contest. The Kentucky Oaks (race 11 on Friday) and the Kentucky Derby (race 11 on Saturday) are the only two mandatory races.
6. Each race a player elects to play requires a minimum total wager of $50.00 for that race. The minimum mandatory wager for the Oaks & Derby are $100.00. Therefore, when playing the required six races per day a player must wager at least $350.00 on those races (5 x $50 and 1 x $100) leaving $150.00 to be played on any of those same races at the player's descretion for a daily total of $500.00. (ie. A player could add the $150 to any one of the six races or spread additional wagers on three races).
7. Bankroll not used on Day 1 can't be carried over to Day 2.
8. When electing to use the discretionary $150.00 in wagers the bankroll must be used in additional minimum $50.00 increments. Please post the Total Amount you are intending to wager at the bottom of your post.
9. Types of wagers permitted are as follows:
a) Win, Place and Show on all races
b) Exacta on all races
c) Trifecta wagers are permitted on the Oaks & Derby only ($1.00 Minimum)
10. When wagering on a specific race, players are allowed a maximum of three pari-mutuel tickets per race, whether they are using their discretionary bankroll or not. (ie. $10 Win,Place,Show #4 would count as one ticket; $20 Exacta Box would count as one ticket; etc.)
11. All wagers must be posted to this thread one full minute prior to the "official post time" as listed at DRF.com. (ie. If the race goes off at 3:34 pm EST your post must be "time stamped" 3:33 pm EST or prior in order to count). This is a firm rule.
12. If your post is late it will count as "No Action" and you will have to select a new race. If your post is late for the mandatory races -- the Oaks & Derby, your selection will not count and you will lose the $100 mandatory bankroll required for those races. You will not be permitted to make up missed mandatory races.
13. All wagers for a particular race must be made on a single post per race. Players will be allowed to change their ticket only if their selection is scratched. (meaning once you post for a race you can't make changes unless your selection scratches) If changes are made the player must re-post his wagers in a post quoting the original wagers. The new post must restate the bets in full and the previous quoted wagers will be null.
14. All scratches not addressed as per Rule #13 will revert to the Post Time Favorite.
15. The betting window opens at 6:00 pm EST on Thursday, April 29th. Any posts made prior to that time will not be counted. These rules may be altered, edited or updated up until that time as may be necessary -- therefore, please check back prior to beginning play.
16. Total Prize value of this contest is $600.00 thanks to ASD and DSI.
17. This contest is "player oriented" so we have strived to design a contest that requires handicapping skill and bankroll management.
18. As stated in Rule #6, players must play a minimum of $50.00 on 5 races per day and $100.00 on one mandatory race per day. Each player has an additional $150.00 per day in discrectionary bankroll to play on those same selected races which must be used in $50.00 increments. Players may not use their discretionary bankroll on a seperate additional race -- they are restricted to a maximum of six races.
19. If in error, a player overbets a particular race by miscalculating the actual cost of their posted play the bet will be adjusted if possible in the following manner -- Show bets will be reduced first, Place bets second and Win bets third. If the total amount wagered still exceeds the amount declared for that race the bet will be declared No Action and the player will need to rebet on another race.
It is the "player's responsibility" to calculate the correct cost of their wagers.
20. As this is a Free Play Contest all final decisions will be at the discretion of the moderators and will be in keeping with the spirit of the contest.
