Also not true! Authorities can apprehend an accused less than 48 hours after they have violated their monitoring. What they can’t do is charge them with an automatic felony violation. A few more inconvenient facts if you don’t mind.

Under the current system, whether you stay in jail depends not on if you are a danger to the community, but on how much money you have.

No criminals will be released due to this law. Because you are not a criminal until you are convicted.

There is a process for determining who will be released on their own recognizance, who will be monitored electronically and who will remain in custody awaiting trial. Ultimately that decision will be made by a judge best on the perceived danger of the accused to the community.

This hotel has worked with the state of Illinois in the past in housing immigrant families. Illinois and Chicago are paying for their stay. Thay are not a burden on Burr Ridge. As for notifying the Mayor, why? Do you notify the mayor of any town you visit.

A more pertinent question is did Abbott ever inform the Mayors of Chicago, New York City and Washington DC. that he was sending those buses? Did he make the tiniest attempt to work with them.

He did not because the whole thing was a political gambit to curry favor with his xenophobic base.
