"Let-er Ride" for The Meadows
No popper in Pic3 yesterday, hit it, lost 7$
3 box Exactas were bad.. -$36
But I'm going to keep plugging away with this Parlay
hopefully Mother Nature will speed up storms and Lady Luck will smile on me
$5/5 "Let er Ride" on 1st pick and Ex key box w/...
Meadows R5..........5 w/1,2,4 ...Today's Success-6/1
Palone on the 4 last race (9/8) was claimed but will be overbet
Meadows R15.........7 w/1,3,5 ...Hoopie-10/1
Stepper upper.. but Hoopie's hot, trying for 3 bagger, IMO Trotters hold form better than Pacers
Good Luck

Thx Don
I've been struggling with my picks this year, just barely on the plus side.
Even my robot has had to take a job vacuuming halls at the Roomba factory.
It seems like the short prices are shorter and the longs, longer but that doesn't show up in the average payoff. $11.60
Maybe it's just a higher frequency in the ends of both groups, short and long.
Oh well, keep trying...

Ray,
I just archived an article from the July 1963 Hoof Beats, "Raceway Roundup".
This excerpt from a summary of the season at Yonkers:
. . . Ricci Reenie (Stanto Eden‑Fingo's Queen) paid the shortest price of the meet, a paltry $2.70. The unbeaten filly, trained by Sonny Dancer, posted four easy‑does‑it wins. . . .

Was she bred to Good Time to produce a horse named Ricci Reenie Time??
And, yeah, whatever happened to the good old days when $2.70 was a short price??

Mark,
The following from the Nov 1973 USTA Hoof Beats article on Ricci Reenie Time:
Ricci Reenie Time, back in peak form after nine early season losses in a row, breezes home in 1:582/5; under the handling of Sonny Dancer to win the first heat of the $86,780 Adios Pace. The long-striding son of Race Time-Ricci Reenie, bred and owned by Ricci Farms of Long Branch, N. J.,
end of quote
I've three images from that article, which they accompanied, however the article and within my archives seems incomplete. Not sure why.
