It feels like this is all for show. They are all pretending to investigate each other but no one on the inside is going to go down. Washington needs to be fumigated or burnt to the ground so we can start over with some decent human beings.
I've been thinking the same thing. Sessions has pushed back (supposedly) against Trump's tweet. (Confirmation forthcoming.) Trump needs to get rid of him. He's the biggest nothing burger in Trump's cabinet.

I hope you realize I wasn't praising...sad that I feel the need to point that out, but people regularly misunderstand me here.

I know you weren't.

My question was serious. I still have a few friends who work for various firms in DC and the running joke is how hard it would be to work for the guy. You do your job all day... do a good job... put out the fires assigned to you... Then he gets in Twitter and dumps gasoline over everything you just accomplished.

A lot of assumptions there...

It's from the perspective of Mr. "Everyday" your average White House staffer.

You think it wouldn't be a hard job?

Until that tweet everyone assumed things were okay, chilly but okay, between the AG and the President. Now you have to find out what he meant. What his new plan is. Answer questions about it. Etc. Etc.

Sounds awful.

It's what I am saying.

Trump promised to drain the swamp during the campaign.

I don't think he realized the extent of the corruption. The entire place is one gigantic swamp and everyone there is a 15 foot alligator. He is asking alligators to investigate other alligators so all the bad guys get put in jail, but they can't because they'd all have to go to jail.

In fact, that's probably how the system works.

You probably aren't given any real power until you are compromised either because of financial misdeeds, corruption, deviant or immoral sexual behavior, or other types of misdeeds. Then once you are compromised, you get to play because they own you.

Yup, it works the same way as "settled science" does.

Not necessarily. Depends on level of skills. Also depends on outlook. To people who love their work, showing up every day to perform is not considered work, let alone a job.

Everything is relative. Plus, maybe the staffer is a snowflake.

Some say that is why the Clintons are still running free. If you prosecute all that have gotten 'Clinton Cash', a good chunk of Congress would be gone...

I'm surprised you're not open to that bit of speculation since Sessions, after all, is a Republican? In your tiny universe, is there such a thing as a clean Republican?
