"Funny" items on EBay

So I am surfing Ebay and checking out horse racing memoribilia and I happen upon this listing:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/ZENYATTAS-20...item3f11a170e7

I chuckle at the absurdity of the sellers claims and her inclusion of thread from the TVG forums as part of the listing.

Further surfing and I stumble upon this:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/ZENYATTA-Bre...item2eba241fb9

Some typos and could have been a bit more polished, but not a bad job of satire. I wonder if this person also posts at TVG.

Why are you implying the first link isn't genuine? It looks genuine to me. The signatures look genuine, and it is easy to confirm with TVG.

Why do you chuckle at the absurdity of the sellers' claims?

It is a genuine listing and I believe that is in fact the saddle cloth she received from TVG.

In the listing she states: "Not many of these were made." I am interested to know on what she bases this claim. I remember TVG touting this give away. It was something to the effect of bet X dollars on BC weekend and receive a BCC Zenyatta saddle cloth. Regardless of the rarity, I doubt these TVG give away items are a "piece of racing history" as she proclaims.

Of course, "to her knowledge no one knows which one was actually race worn." I would posit the Moss' know exactly which Zenyatta saddle cloth was race worn-the one framed and hanging in their den and not the ones specifically mass produced for a TVG giveaway.

This listing and the follow-up satirical listing just struck my as funny, Pace.

Look at the pictures. You can see the stitching in the "Breeders' Cup" on the photo where it shows the back of the saddle cloth.

If this was some "replica" made just for a TVG giveaway, there's no way they'd have that kind of craftsmanship.

I have no other knowledge other than what I see and read on ebay, but I'm willing to wager that is one of a very, very few

Now, don't take this as "fact," but I think a little time trawling the TVG community would indicate that it is the mass produced replica.

I have been lied to by TVG for over a month now, as it pertains to my mickey mouse Breeders Cup Saddle Cloth that I was assured was mailed to me.

That's a thread started by the same user who started another thread (two days later) that reads:
TVG Gives me a special Birthday present- I have my Saddle Cloth

I have never been happier on my 55th birthday than today. I have my Zenyatta breeders cup cloth and my faith is restored in TVG.

Special bonus, check out how the other posters speak about 'ed' and his ebay listings.

Ah, a discerning man of quality who eschews the mass produced cookie cutter hype touted merchandise for the unique hand tailored quality.

Oh, to answer your question, I'd check with Adele. I figure she's got it.
