I would use the UStrotting.com web site plenty of info for new and older handicappers. On the left hand side click on "Pandycapping" Bob Pandolfo has many good articles.

Lots of good article here:

Don't listen to Ralph....he saw that Rodney Dangerfiled movie where the driver had his feet out on the track like brakes and never forgot it!

Professional Harness Betting
I can recommend Professional Harness Betting by Barry Meadow.
The book is quite expensive, but it's worth every dollar.
Quote from the book, Decisions vs. Selections:
"Shopping for bargains, not just picking winners, is the key to making money at harness betting".
Barry Meadow is in a class of his own.
Buy the book, read it over and over again.
You will become a better horse player!
See you at the track, and good handicapping to you!

Geez how could I forget about that book Heuer? Of course a very very good one to have. Mr Meadow is a member of this site maybe he could post on how one could obtain his book today. A very worthwhile read just a little on the old side.

Forget the books..
Get some old programs (the Woodbine programs are free from their website) and watch the races and see what is winning.
Watch lots of replays, watch for rough trips, hot quarters, track biases.
Frankly take the same approach as t-breds, just become familiar with the trop drivers and trainers.
