It's just pure insanity...and has been since DAY 1...and I said just that...on day 1. And nothing that has happened has caused me to waver in that opinion.
This was the dumbest, craziest shit to ever happen to this country...ever....and TONS of people bought RIGHT INTO IT...plenty right here on this board...and it doesn't matter what kind politics you're into...BOTH sides bought into it...with many saying (and continuing to say) THANK YOU SIR, MAY I HAVE ANOTHER DAY OF LOCKDOWN!
A person just yesterday on this board wrote that once a vaccine is found, all will be back to normal.
WAT?

WAT??????
Delusional.

This was one of your first "herd immunity" celebrations. Very early in the pandemic 3/31/2020 Today, not quite 2 months later, if you go to the site I linked, you will see at the end of March, early April, 30 people had died,
Told you then, it was just beginning there. Today an update...
https://www.worldometers.info/corona...ountry/mexico/
Coronavirus Cases:
59,567
Deaths:
6,510
Brazil is even worse.

I disagree with your outlook for the length of recovery in America.
I do agree that the America that you live in will be the slowest to recover by a wide margin. You live in the most densely populated part of America controlled by the most left wing part of our government.

I live in rural nortwest New York State. For the most part the cases and fatalities are now dropping on both commie, socialist infected leftest coasts. It is moving mostly into the Midwest and southern states. And this is only the first wave. Most epidemiologists expect 2, possibly more.

Actually, Gary, while weird things may be going on in America in making a virus a partisan issue instead of a disease, I'm not seeing that in the rest of the world, who also seem to have concerns about covid-19, both economic and otherwise.
I think when you begin to do enough reading, outside of "partisan bubbles" that most of this wouldn't even generate a serious discussion in 145 other nations.
Of course, they don't have a big election coming up so they are able to think about things in a more logical and rational manner.
You may or may not be right about people's wishes and hopes, but opinions are anecdotal and not reality. Wishing and hoping, when fighting a disease, doesn't do much ......so none of it really matters when rubber hits the road. And it won't matter when we try to restore our economy in the near future either. I spend my time looking at how all the other developed nations across the planet are handling this, and I will be looking also at how that figures into their economic recuperation afterwards, because they are linked. How fast and who gets on their feet is going to be more essential than trying to figure out what other people are "wishing and hoping for."
