I can understand why deacon would just go into retirement after Freddie died. how in the world would you replace a guy like him out front ?
Mercury was just so different and good in so many ways. look at the super groups of the initial british invasion, beatles, DC5, stones etc. all were new and exciting, but none had a front man like this guy. looking back they were almost boring. as far as pure entertainment, Freddie could get 100,000 plus in the palm of her hand with crowd participation.

Thanks for that explanation.

in his final months
ravaged by aides, Freddie insists on making 1 last video to, in his own way, say good bye :

Freddie Mercury's music was totally apolitical...by design. What a pleasure it is to listen to him and to watch his style, still...27 years after his unfortunate death.
I saw the movie, Bohemian Rhapsody, a few weeks ago. At the end of the movie, while the credits were scrolling and flashes of the real Freddie were shown singing, the audience literally sat frozen in their seats for a good ten minutes...never experienced anything like that before in a movie theater.
