Put "soon to be" in front of "wealthy" in the first sentence and it pretty accurately describes 2008 all over again.
For accuracy, add in the belief of many black Americans in the utopian post-racial presidency that never materialized. In fact, things got worse, to the point that 5 years into Obama's reign, many found the need to form Black Lives Matter while Obama hobnobbed with the rich and famous, vacationing on Martha's Vineyard. How's that for post-racial promises?

We are already into the long run of this administration? Did the economy already go down the crapper, and I missed it?
Being the cynic that I am, my standard for effective politicians is that they don't make things any worse. Trump and this Congress are meeting my hopes to date.
