Thread title inspired me to dig out the Five Man Electrical Band's 1971 hit. Haven't heard this one in a while.

When was the last time a civilian killed someone with an automatic weapon? I would be curious but people keep talking about getting rid of them. If there is something I see people squabbling about where I know next to nothing and I have an interest in the discussion I use something called the internet and spend a little time reading up. Why don't the anti-gun people do this so they don't spout off and leave no doubt they no nothing about guns? I am shocked we even have high level politicians spewing nonsense that would have been avoided spending 10 minutes on Wikipedia.

Lying is the strategy of many.
And many are very good at it.

Truth has no place in politics.

I think the big huge bank robbery shootout in the 90s in California. Prior to that one or two other times. It's extremely rare.

Good memory, I lived in So Cal at the time, that was insane. The cops were getting guns and ammo from the local gun stores while the shootout was in progress. Without cheating and Googling, from memory I think no one other than the robbers were killed.

I believe that there was 1 officer killed also. The weapons they used were modified to fire automatic.

Drunk drivers kill many more than crazies with assault weapons. The Austin bomber and 911 had nothing to do with assault weapons. Add Oklahoma City and host of other mass killings. Where's the outrage over the mentally ill among us, free to derail at the drop of a dime?
Its all political and corruption by the left. They'll use blacks, women, and even underage children to push an agenda. Much of that agenda they don't even fully agree with themselves. How many on the left own firearms themselves? The basis behind their corruption isn't to improve lives, but instead to destroy morale and irritate conservatives. They fantasize of one day destroying the constitution entirely and reconstructing their own. Destroy/ban anything of a conservative nature.

Unlike "assault weapons", fully automatic weapons are not easy to come by. They require a federal license and a $200 federal tax stamp, and are illegal in some states. Last I heard, an M-16, the full-auto military version of the AR-15, was selling for around $15K.

I just did a quick Google, even though there were 18 injuries only the two perps died. That is back when cops only had side arms and shotguns.
