Great player and coach. I thought he was going to win 85 Championship, but the 85 Lakers were too much. Larry Bird and the Chief were hurt if I remember right. But they won 84 and 86.

i grew up with the Celtics, KC Jones also played with Bill Russel in college and in the pro's. just like the Yankees, the Celtics were always a team you could be proud to be a fan of. they always played hard.

During Christmas break in 1954,66 years ago, KC and Bill played in the old Holiday Classic in OKC. It was there that I saw KC(~6'-6'1") dunk a ball during the warm up. It was the first time to see that for me. Later a dunk became commonplace for guys that size but not then. Russell also took 2 giant steps from under the basket and blocked a shot by Cleo Littleton (Wichita St.) who was shooting from what now would probably be the 3 pt circle. He was a remarkable player as was KC. They went ahead to win the NCAA -55 and 56.
I watched them every time I got a chance from then on and loved every minute of it.
