Most Annoying Announcer
I find the voice of the current announcer at Turf Paradise painful.

Sorry you don't like my calls. But, hey, everyone has styles they like and don't like. Hope you find a lot of winners!
Craig.

As Craig hovers his mouse over the link to this thread for the very first time, he's thinking "please don't let it be me, please don't let it be me..."
Click....
DAMN!
LOL
In all seriousness, congrats on landing the TuP gig...and don't worry. Some people thought Tom Durkin sucked too...

It just shows everyone has different preferences, I really like Craig's calls. I generally find the Uk, Ozzie, NZ, South African callers to use a bit different vocabulary which I find interesting. Cheers Craig!

Craig is a major upgrade from the previous Turf Paradise announcer. To me, the buffoon that calls Turfway and Ellis is by far the most annoying in racing, soooo many corny lines.

I too prefer race callers with an accent other than North American, don't know why just do.

Thanks, guys!
There are some great race callers with all kinds of accents but I certainly appreciate the kind comments from you all.
My life has changed a lot (for the better) in the last few years and I am grateful for the opportunity at Turf Paradise. I am also lucky I have a great off-season job where they still pay me year round even though I go off to call races (and some other stuff) for half the year!
To Lambo: Thanks for caring, aside from some very painful joints, I am fine now. My golf (and occasionally race calling) are brought to you by the finest vicodin and CBD gummie one can obtain!
Hope everyone is well. If you guys ever make it out to Phoenix, let me know, come and watch a race from the "luxurious" sky box that is the announcers booth and the beer is on me, after!
Craig

Honestly, after reading the rest of the thread, it takes a special kind of dick to add this reply.

Hey Craig, as long as you are calling my horse across the line first,
you can sound any way you want!, really.

I'm not one for coming on the board and calling people assholes.
But I'll make the exception for you.

There is nothing wrong with any race callers voice, you have to go with what God has given you whether people like it or not.
