Looks like it opened with over $600K on it with 18 MTP.
Then $769K with 17 MTP as I write this.
$846K with 16 MTP. There's $857K in the show pool at this point.
$910K at 14 MTP
Bingo at 14 MTP $1.004M
$1.058M at 11 MTP
$1.088M at 10 MTP (it's slowing down)
$1.108M at 9 MTP
$1.160M at 5 MTP
$1.238M at 4 MTP
$1.337M at 3 MTP
$1.363M at 2 MTP

Does anyone know the most ever bet to show on a horse?

Wonder
It makes you wonder what it would have been if the ADW's would let you bet it (without shutting down your account).

the only other one that i know of that was more was MADAGLIA D'ORO at Oaklawn, and i can't prove it by the equibase chart that shows only $700,000 between w-p-s, and i know that has to be wrong.

that was a good race. Didn't see that coming. X Y Jet actually ran pretty good, just too much pace pressure...

That was more like a step jumper, not all that much of a jump.

I actually had a potential win play on the #1 horse - but needed approx 7-5 and clearly that wasn't happening.
Early on in the betting the horse was 1-9 and decided to just watch.
But then I noticed the disproportionate amt of money on the #1 in the show pool...
So I dug a little deeper.
Kind of a high pace pressure race (based on my numbers.)
The two E runners (HDW runstyle) in the race who dueled were both 7 yr olds facing younger.
I've got data that says older horses can win their fair share.
But the numbers also suggest that as horses get older they have a tough time surviving real pace pressure and going on to win.
Hardly the situation I'd want to be involved with if I were the bridgejumper.
I know... hindsight is 20/20.
But poking holes in a bridgejumped horse isn't the real point of this post.
When the gate opened and I saw Saez taking it to Jaramillo, I had to smile.
So many times in today's game the horse with big show money on it pretty much jogs around the track unchallenged.
Saez wasn't having any of that today.
This race looked like racing the way it used to be... with actual riding.
Fun to watch.
